Configuring and Browsing the Master Alarm by Using the Web Pages
To use the Master Alarm’s built-in Web Pages; you either need to have the
Master Alarm connected to the facility’s Ethernet, or have it connected to a serial
port on your computer (see “Setting up the Internet Interface” on page 6–11).
1. Before using the Web pages, set up the alarm’s Internet interface.
CAUTION:
Have the facility’s Information Systems personnel set up the Internet inter-
face. If the set up is done improperly, equipment may not perform proper-
ly.
2. Find the Master Alarm’s name.
a. Open the Master Alarm’s Front Panel.
b. Look on the label on the back of the Master Alarm Module.
The label says
Serial Number://Master#####
, where “#####” is the unique seri-
al number for that Master Alarm. The word
Master
plus its serial number is the
factory-programmed name for the Master Alarm.
3. Another way to find the Master Alarm’s name is as follows:
a. Use a 5/32" hex wrench to open the front panel of the Master Alarm.
b. Turn the power switch to the OFF position.
c. Turn the power switch back to the ON position and watch the display.
d. When the display reads
Webbrowse@http://Master#####
, that is the
Master alarm’s name.
4. Type the word
Master
followed by its serial number (without a space) into
your browser’s address window (CM) (see figure 1-22 on page 1–72).
