In Case of an Emergency.
In case of an Emergency, secure the PLB with a rope or a tether, or by attaching it to clothing, so that
it is not inadvertently lost.
Fix the PLB in horizontal position with the best sky clearance for optimum transmission of the emer-
gency signals and better reception of the GPS satellite signals.

Recommendation
The MR109 Personal Locator Beacon is designed for use as a survival radio transmitter for the public
at large and also professional users. The MR109 is robust and very simple to use in all outdoor activi-
ties.
The MR109 is an affordable device for all users, and should be used as a backup device for pilots or
sea captains already equipped with an ELT or an EPIRB.
Professionals, working in wilderness areas, individuals or sport clubs practicing “extreme” sports, may
find this radio transmitter beacon an “essential must have”, as during such activities the risk and ex-
posure to danger is high, therefore a situation of unexpected and grave danger may easily occur.
The MR109 is provided with a carry bag and tether to be attached to a life raft or life vest. It may be
carried over a jacket or other survival equipment.
Please be well prepared and trained for “extreme” sports activities. If not, there is a very high risk of
severe injury or death, and therefore, this beacon may not be of any help.
