6.4 BOOTP / DHCP
‘IP Address’ setting is available for BOOTP / DHCP.
* BOOTP: short for Bootstrap Protocol, is a UDP network protocol used by a network client to obtain its IP
address automatically. This is usually done in the bootstrap process of computers or operating systems
running on them. The BOOTP server can assign the IP address from a pool of addresses to each client.
* DHCP: set of rules used by communications devices such as a computer, router or network adapter to
allow the device to request and obtain an IP address from a server which has a list of addresses available for
assignment.
