8.10 Transferring a patient into a bath tub
CAUTION:
Do not lift the patient/resident higher than necessary.
Proceed as follows to install a patient/resident in a bath tub using the combination
bathing lift:
1. Lower the bath tub to the bottommost position.
2. Raise the bathing lift so that the safety distance between the seat or stretcher of
the lift and the tub edge is approx. 10 cm. When setting the height, you must
ensure that there is sufficient lateral distance between the SENTA PUR L and
the bath tub.
3. Position the SENTA diagonally to the head end of the bath tub.
Note: Help the
patient/resident to raise his/her legs over the tub edge into the tub.
4. Let the patient/resident check the water temperature with his/her foot. Adjust the
temperature if necessary.
5.
Align the SENTA PUR L centrally above the tub.
6. Set the bathing lift to a comfortable working height.
7.
Raise the bath tub.
Make sure that no body parts are located between the
bathtub floor and the bathing lift. (risk of crushing)
CAUTION:
Do not raise the bath tub to such extent that the lift is lifted
together with the tub! (tipping hazard)
Risk of injury for patient/resident and caretaker.
The bath tub and/or the lift could be damaged.
8.
If the patient/resident is capable of sitting autonomously, you can fold the swing
arm back and loosen the safety belt.
9. Bathe the patient/resident.
