Installing your new faucet
Important
: Take note of the different standards and rules your local
and municipal plumbing codes have in effect before installing.
Step 1.
Shut off the water supply valves of the existing
faucet.
Step 2.
Remove the old faucet. Properly clean surface
on which faucet is to be installed.
Step 3.
Insert the faucet tubes and threaded studs
through the holes in the basin or counter top. From
underneath the basin, place one holding plate and one
locknut on each threaded stud and tighten gently by
hand. Now, position the
faucet for proper alignment on top of
basin or counter top. Tighten the locknuts
with
the Bélanger tool provided.
(Diag. A)
Do not overtighten.
Step 4.
The riser tube lines are now ready
to be connected. Fit existing riser tube lines
to faucet inlets, by threading existing
coupling nuts onto brass adapters and
tighten to form a watertight joint.
(Diag. B)
If existing riser tube lines are damaged in
any way, install new ones.
Step 5.
Turn on water supply and inspect the coupling nut
connections for leaks. Tighten nuts if necessary. Unscrew aerator.
Turn the faucet on in the warm position (center position) for at least
one minute to evacuate the air trapped in the pipes. Replace aerator.
Your new Bélanger faucet is now fully installed and ready to use.
Important
: The Canadian Plumbing Code requires the installation of
air chambers or surge arresting devices to eliminate water hammer.
