3.2.3 Start of tractor movement, GB shifting
ATTENTION: YOUR TRACTOR IS EQUIPPED WITH TURBOCHARGED ENGINE. HIGH
SPEED OF THE TURBOCHARGER REQUIRES GOOD LUBRICATION AT ENGINE
START. AFTER THE ENGINE START, WARM UP THE ENGINE TO ACHIEVE STABLE
RUNNING UNDER THE CRANKSHAFT SPEED OF 1000-1300 RPM (FOR 2-3 MIN),
AND THEN LET IT RUN AT HIGHER RPM, GRADUALLY INCREASING THE SPEED UP
TO 1600 RPM (NOT MORE) UNTIL THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE REACHES 40°C.
TRACTOR OPERATION IS FORBIDDEN, IF THE ENGINE EMERGENCY OIL PRES-
SURE LAMP IS ON WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, STOP THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY!
Before starting the movement, define a necessary speed of tractor movement. The speed
diagram of the tractor “BELARUS-1523.5” with tires of basic configuration is given in the
instruction table attached to the cab right window and also in subsection 2.14.2. “Tractor
velocity diagram”. (for tractors equipped with GB 24x12 the tractor velocity diagram is
shown in subsection 2.27)
To put the tractor in motion, do the following:
- reduce engine speed;
- depress the clutch pedal;
- set a required GB range using the range shifting lever according to the range shifting di-
agram;
- set a desired speed, for which move the speed and pass shifting lever from neutral (“N”)
into any of positions according to the speed shifting diagram;
- before setting the required gear on tractors equipped with GB 24x12, if necessary, press
the GB reduction unit higher pass (H) activation button. In this case, a LED lamp of red
color lights up on the handle of GB reduction unit gear and pass shifting lever, and the an-
nunciator of GB reduction unit higher pass activation lights up on the control panel of rear
axle DL and FDA drive indicating GB reduction unit higher pass activation;
- disengage the parking break, slowly release the clutch pedal, increasing fuel feed at the
same time. The tractor will start moving.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO START TRACTOR MOVEMENT WITH BIG TRACTION LOAD!
TRACTOR MOVEMENT WITH THE DOOR OPEN IS FORBIDDEN!
ATTENTION: SHIFT GB RANGES AND GEARS ONLY WITH THE TRACTOR STOPPED
AND THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED! PERFORMING TRANSPORT OPER-
ATIONS IT IS ALLOWED TO SHIFT GEARS WITHIN A RANGE. SHIFTING SHALL BE
CARRIED OUT AS THE TRACTOR COASTS WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DE-
PRESSED!
ATTENTION: REDUCTION UNIT PASS “L” OR “H” ACTIVATION IS ONLY POSSIBLE
WITH THE TRACTOR STOPPED AND AFTER SETTING THE GEARSHIFTING LEVER
IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION!
ATTENTION: DO NOT HOLD THE FOOT ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL DURING TRACTOR
OPERATION AS IT CAN LEAD TO CLUTCH SLIPPING, ITS OVERHEATING AND FAIL-
URE!
ATTENTION: IN ORDER TO ENGAGE THE GEAR, MOVE THE GEARSHIFTING LEVER
SMOOTHLY, WITHOUT SHARP PUSHES, ACCORDING TO THE DIAGRAM, AND
HOLD IT PRESSED UNTIL THE GEAR IS FULLY ENGAGED!
