Release 09 08/2015
2.5
Connecting the power supply and signal
lines
The supply voltage is electrically isolated from the housing.
You have the option of supplying the supply voltage redundantly, without
load distribution.
2.5.1
Supply voltage with the characteristic value C
Perform the following steps for the supply voltage to be connected, or for
device variants with 2 supply voltage connections of this type, for
every
supply voltage to be connected.
For
every
supply voltage to be connected, perform the following steps:
Connect the wires for the supply voltage according to the pin assignment
with a suitable socket.
WARNING
ELECTRIC SHOCK
Never insert pointed objects (narrow screwdrivers, wires, etc.) into the
device or into the connection terminals for electric conductors. Do not touch
the connection terminals.
Start connecting the electrical wires only if
all
the above safety
requirements are fulfilled.
See “Supply voltage” on page 8.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury,
or equipment damage.
