Applies exclusively to device variants with approval for the 4.9 GHz band
(Approvals 2, characteristic value P) according to
FCC 47CFR Part 90 Subpart Y:
Operation of the device in the 4.9 GHz band requires trained
personnel familiar with the regulatory requirements for operation
according to FCC 47CFR Part 90 Subpart Y.
The 4.9 GHz band is a licensed band. State and local government
entities that provide public safety services are eligible to apply for
4.9 GHz licenses. For more information, see the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) regulations. The installer or
operator is responsible for obtaining the appropriate site licenses
before installing or using the system.
The antenna gain of the antenna must not exceed 9 dBi.
For antennas with an antenna gain >9 dBi, the transmit power must be
reduced accordingly in the device software. You can find step-by-step
instructions for reducing the transmit power in the device software in
the
“Configuring the transmit power for the 4.9 GHz band” on page 54
chapter.
Note for the use in the Japan
This note applies to BAT-R variants with the characteristic
value JP (Japan) for country approvals that are labeled as follows:
"Contains MIC ID: 204-310014"
Devices with the characteristic value JP for country approvals are suitable
for usage with the following antennas:
The use of antennas missing in this list is prohibited. The 5 GHz band is
restricted to indoor usage.
