Lily pond
In this variation the board is turned so the water side with the
lily pond is facing up. There are two-tone water lilies in five
different colours on the pond. On the pond side of the board,
the dragonfly comes back into play and the coloured dice is
switched out for the dragonfly dice.
The game is played clockwise here too, but this time the oldest
player gets to begin. Before the game starts, the oldest player
places the dragonfly on a water lily of his/her choice. The dra
-
gonfly remains on the board the entire game.
After that, the oldest player rolls the animal and dragonfly dice. If an animal and a colour are
rolled, the player places the animal rolled on the corresponding colour on either an inner or outer
blossom. It doesn’t matter which. The piece is not allowed to go over the edge of the water lily. If a
player rolls the dragonfly on the colour dice, the dragonfly needs to switch places with the animal
rolled on the other dice. If there is no animal on the board to exchange with the dragonfly, then it
simply needs to change places.
The animals are not allowed to fall in the water on the pond side of the board either. If that
happens, then the animal is removed from the playing field immediately and re-used by the same
player. If all of the places for one colour are occupied, or the animal rolled is no longer available, the
next player is up.
