Brightness [%]
The Brightness [%] setting is used to define
the brightness of the scanned image. The
desired value can be entered as a numeric
value (confirm the input using the TAB key
on the PC keyboard) or by clicking on and
pushing the slider to the desired value. The
default brightness setting is 50.
Threshold
The Threshold control expands the
brightness range of the image to the
maximum range of the scanner. This
converts the darkest areas of the image to
solid black and the brightest areas to solid
white.
Available only Binary mode, the two settings
for thresholding are: Dynamic; and Fixed.
Dynamic Threshold depends on the
contents of the image; whereas Fixed
Threshold is defined through the brightness
setting.
Despeckle
Despeckle removes isolated black pixels
that don’t have any relation to their
neighbors. Speckles exist only in binary
files and are found in low contrast areas of
documents.
The available settings for Despeckle are
OFF and 4x4 Positive.
Contrast [%]
The
Contrast [%]
slider defines the contrast
of the resulting image. Higher contrast
values show more details. If scanning in
Binary mode or (binary) Photo, the behavior
of the contrast slider changes. The desired
value can be entered as a numeric value
(confirm the input using the TAB key on the
PC keyboard) or by clicking on and pushing
the slider to the desired value.
Image Sharpness
The Image Sharpness improves detail by
increasing the sharpness to image outlines.
The desired value can be entered as a
numeric value (confirm the input using the
TAB key on the PC keyboard) or by clicking
on and pushing the slider to the desired
value.
