Exposure
The Exposure control sets the threshold
value for the Black Cut function or for the
Auto Exposure function.
Black Cut…
This function sets the threshold for
black
. All
pixel values found in the image below the
selected value are set to black.
Result: The image contrast is improved.
Auto Exposure…
This function sets the threshold for
black
and
activates the
automatic exposure
control.
These functions search the image for the
highest and the lowest pixel value. The highest
pixel value is defined as “white”. If the lowest
pixel value is higher than the threshold, it is
defined as “black”. Otherwise all values below
the threshold are defined as “black”.
Result: Automatic contrast control and the image
contrast are improved.
Gamma
The
Gamma
slider does the gamma
correction directly inside the camera
electronics. The desired value can be
entered as a numeric value (confirm the
input using the TAB key on the PC
keyboard) or by clicking on and pushing the
slider to the desired value. Three typical
settings are available through the check
boxes directly below the slider; they are:
sRGB; Windows & SGI; and Mac OS.
Color Gain
The
Color Gain
drop down list changes the
gain on a specific channel. This function is
used to eliminate any color shift or tints from
the background. The drop down arrow for
each color allows the operator to change
the value in a range; from 0 (default) at
center to either (negative) -2dB to a
(positive) 2dB, in increments of .1dB.
