The available settings for Prev. scale range from 1:1 to 1:64. The setting can be increased to
decreased by tapping the
+
or
–
buttons found on the
Prev. scale
button. If the
+
or
–
buttons
are tapped and then held while the setting increases or decreases by at least five single
increments/decrements, the setting will then automatically increase or decrease by whole
increments/decrements of 5 (e.g. 1:5, 1:10, 1:15, etc.).
File format: PNM
The file format of a scanned image will be PNM when this value is selected.

"PNM" or portable anymap covers six variations of portable bit/gray/pixel maps, (PBM, PGM,
and PPM) whether ASCII or binary. There are no compression options offered at this time.
From the resulting screen, the
Prev. quality
and
Prev. scale
buttons are available.
The
Prev. quality
button (preview quality) is used to set the preview quality of the PNM file
(scanned image). A higher percentage gives better quality, but the data size will increase. A
lower percentage will show some artifacts, but the data size will be reduced. Review the
bulleted instructions
on how to increase and decrease the Prev. quality setting found under File
Format: JPG above.
