7.1.1.2 User Settings Section
Within the User Settings section of the User’s Setup Device screen, there is one button; the
User Settings
button.
Clicking the
User Settings
button displays the User Settings screen, from which the operator
can manipulate the following basic scanner controls:
Energy Star Power Down
;
Volume
;
Foot
Pedal
; and
Splitting Start of Page
.
Energy Star Power Down
The Infinity WF scanner is Energy Star
compliant. This means if the scanner
reverts to stand-by mode, its power
consumption is only 8 Watts. The Energy
Star guidelines define the default time until
the device goes into stand-by mode as 15
minutes.
The User can modify the default time by
selecting a specific time period from the
drop down list provided.
Figure 7.5
shows
the list of available values. The list starts
with fifteen minutes and ends with four
hours. This is the maximum time period
defined through the Energy Star guidelines.
Figure 7.5
Volume
The volume control allows the User to set
the volume of the scanner response
commands (see
7.1.2.2 Base Settings
,
specifically,
Sound System Button
for more
information on sound setup).
To adjust the volume, click on the volume
percentage links.

Foot Pedal
The Foot Pedal control is used to set the
function of the optional foot pedal if it is
installed. The user can initiate a scan
command from the foot pedal versus the
Touch Screen or the Web-based Scan
Application.
There are two options for scanning using
the foot pedal that are set within the Foot
Pedal screen: ‘Start scan’, which moves the
document through the transport and
deposits it out the back of the scanner into
the
media output tray
; and ‘Start scan &
rewind page’, which moves the document
through the transport and then backs it out
to the front of the scanner, depositing it on
the
scan table
.
