Regulatory Agency Guidelines
Follow the installation procedures in this book to ensure compliance with the
current FCC rules regarding radio-frequency devices (FCC Rules, Part 15) and
the connection of terminal equipment to the telephone network (FCC Rules, Part
68).
FCC/CSA Part agency compliance label(s) for the MAP/100 system card and
individual network interface cards are located on the rear surface of the chassis
or individual circuit card.
FCC Guidelines
The guidelines in this section will help you to comply with procedures as you
connect to the public telephone network.
Before You Connect to the Public
Telephone Network
Before you make any connections to the public telephone network, give the local
service provider the following information:
■
The telephone and circuit numbers of the lines to which the MAP/100 will
be connected
■
The FCC registration number of the MAP/100 (this is located on the
faceplate of each Tip/Ring circuit card and visible at the rear of the unit)
■
The ringer equivalence number (REN) of the PC/PBX circuit card and the
IVP6 Tip/Ring circuit card
NOTE:
The REN is located on the faceplate of each circuit card and visible
at the rear of the unit.
Type of Telephone Lines Needed
Use your application on standard-device telephone line circuits and standard T1
or E1 trunks.
Do
not
connect to telephone company-provided coin service (central office
implemented systems).
NOTE:
Connecting to party-line service is subject to state tariffs.
If you have any questions about the telephone line(s), such as how many pieces
of equipment you can connect to a line, contact the service provider.
