Cooking Plate Removal & Installation, Care & Cleaning
CAUTION:
ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE GRILL/GRIDDLE IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE INSTALLING PLATES.
CAUTION:

PROPERLY INSTALLED.
1. Place the Grill/Griddle on a dry, clean, flat surface. Press the hinge release button. Grasp the handle
and open.
2. Press the upper plate release button and slide the upper plate out of the plate clips. Press the lower plate
release button and slide the lower plate out of the plate clips.
3. Clean both non-stick cooking plates with a soft cleaning brush or cloth. If necessary, clean plates in hot,
soapy water. ALWAYS WASH COOKING PLATES BY HAND.
NOTE:
Cooking plates are NOT dishwasher safe.
4. To condition plates, lightly coat the cooking surfaces with solid vegetable shortening or vegetable oil.
Carefully follow suggested cleaning procedures below. After a time, if cooked food show signs of sticking,
recondition as needed.
NOTE: DO NOT USE NON-STICK SPRAYS AS THEY CAN CAUSE BUILD-UP ON THE COOKING PLATES.
USE OLIVE OIL INSTEAD.
WARNING: DO NOT USE NON-FAT SPREADS. THEY MAY BURN AND DAMAGE THE NON-STICK
COOKING PLATES.
5. To protect the premium quality non-stick surfaces, use only plastic, nylon or wooden utensils.
6. To remove any batter or food baked onto any cooking plate, pour a small amount of cooking oil onto
the hardened batter. Allow to set for 5 minutes, then wipe softened batter off with a paper towel or soft
cloth. Remove stubborn stains with a plastic mesh puff or pad. A clean toothbrush works well to remove
baked-on batter from the grill. For best results, use only products with directions stating they are safe for
cleaning non-stick cooking surfaces. Do not use steel wool or coarse scouring pads.
7. Install the lower cooking plate. Grasp the side of the plate with the lower plate grease drain facing the
rear of the unit. Fully insert the cooking plate — the 2 notches on both sides of the grease drain slide into
the 2 plate clips. Press the plate release button while pressing the plate down into the body until the plate
snaps securely into place.
8. Install the upper cooking plate. Grasp the side of the plate with the upper plate grease drain facing the
