Depending on your child’s type of riding, the wheels may suffer damage or deformation (cracks, warping). These issues can
cause braking and handling problems. Deformed, cracked or broken rims must be adjusted (spoke tension adjustment) or re-
placed. If in doubt, please contact our support team via the website www.bemoov-bikes.be or go to a bicycle shop for profes-
sional service.
Check tire pressure and wear regularly (normal loss of +- 1 bar per month). Please respect the minimum and maximum pres-
sure indications on the sidewall of the tire (PSI /BAR). Inner tubes have car valves and can therefore be inflated at gas stations.
Replace worn tires immediately.
E. THE DRIVETRAIN
The drivetrain is comprised of all the components including the chain, the crankset, the pedals and the freewheel.
These components work together to keep your child moving forward. This is why it is crucial to maintain them perfectly.
•
Clean: Use a soft bristled brush to remove any dirt or debris attached to the chain and freewheel.
•
Degrease: Spray cleaner or degreaser on the chain and freewheel. Then wipe everything with a cloth by turning the crank.
•
Lubricate the chain regularly. We recommend lubricating periodically or after excessive use. Apply only bicycle chain lube
to the chain and freewheel. Then use a dry cloth to wipe off excess lubricant.
•
The bicycle chain is subject to strong forces. Its tension can fluctuate depending on its use. The tension is ideal if it does
not form too marked a curve (see photo). This tension can be adjusted by moving the rear wheel horizontally.
•
Crank arms can sometimes come loose. Please check whether this has occurred by holding both cranks with both hands
to determine if you feel any play. Do this by moving back and forth as well as left and right. If you notice any play, tighten
them at the level of the bolt which connects the crank to the axle of the bottom bracket. If the problem persists, it means
that they are damaged and must be replaced.
