This operating manual is intended for
- skilled electricians and
- electrotechnically trained personnel.
The BENNING CM 10-PV is intended for measurements under dry ambient con-
ditions. It must not be used in electrical circuits with a nominal voltage higher
than 1000 V AC/ DC. When using the BENNING TA PV measuring adapter, the
nominal voltage range increases to 1500 V AC/2000 V DC. (see section 6 „Am-
bient conditions“ and section 8.2.2 „Voltage measurement (switch position PV)“
for details).
The following symbols are used in this operating manual and on the BENNING
CM 10-PV:
Application around and removal from HAZARDOUS LIVE conductors
is permitted.
Warning of electrical danger!

sons.

This symbol indicates that the information provided in the operating
man ual must be complied with in order to avoid risks.
CAT II
Measuring category II is applicable to testing and measuring circuits
which are directly connected to user connections (sockets and similar
connections) of the low-voltage mains installation.
CAT III
Measuring category III is applicable to testing and measuring circuits
connected to the distribution circuit of the low-voltage mains installation
of a building.
CAT IV
Measuring category IV is applicable to testing and measuring circuits
connected to the feed-in point of the low-voltage mains installation of
a building.
This symbol on the BENNING CM 10-PV indicates that the BENNING
CM 10-PV is equipped with protective insulation (protection class II).
