Using QEye (Optional)
Depending on your purchased model, your Joybook may have a 1.3
megapixel built-in camera on top of the LCD panel, hereafter referred as
QEye. With QEye, you can not only capture images and record videos but
also hold a video conference easily.
Using WebCam Companion
You can use WebCam Companion to capture real-time images, record
videos, or hold a video conference.
Capturing images
1. Launch WebCam Companion.
2. Make sure WebCam Companion is the active window, and then press
QShot
on your Joybook.
Or
Click Capture Image under the Capture tab.
3. The captured image file will be saved to a QShot folder that is placed
on your desktop by default.
• The snapshot resolution is set to 640 x 480 by default. To change the
setting, click Capture Settings
.
• You can preview the captured images in the thumbnails area; however,
if you rename or move a file in the QShot folder, the file won’t be
displayed in the thumbnails area anymore.
• If you want to edit your captured images with more advanced features,
click Funhouse
.
• For details, refer to WebCam Companion by clicking the Help menu.
• If you want to capture an image in a dark place, you can click Web
Camera Settings
, and then place a mark in the Low Light Mode
checkbox. The image will become more clear but the frame rate will
decrease in this mode.
• The background affects the photometric accuracy and thus affects the
image quality.
Recording videos
1. Launch WebCam Companion.
2. Click Record Video under the Capture tab.
3. The video file will be saved to a QShot folder that is placed on your
desktop by default.
The video resolution is set to 640 x 480 by default. To change the setting,
click Capture Settings
.
Holding a video conference
To hold a video conference, click the Chat tab and install free instant
messaging programs provided. For details, refer to the online help.
