Calibration :
Selecting Calibartion is for calibrating a sensor (adjusting the sensitivity).
When you require sensor calibration prior to measurement, this procedure is used.
For example, an acoustic calibrator usually generates a 94dB (1Pa) calibration signal at 1
kHz, therefore you can follow the procedure below to calibrate the sensitivity of your
microphone.
Illustration Example
:
Calibration of an acoustic microphone Endevco EM46AE
Preamplifier Serial NO.137357
Nicrophone Serial No.134396
Sensitivity from the calibration sheet: 51.26 mV/Pa
Note: The illustrating displays for this example are from the 4 channel analyzer impaq
Elite. They are slightly different from that of Fieldpaq II.
1. Enter Channel Setup and change the Coupling of channel 1 as IEPE (In this example
an IEPE type microphone is used.)
