WARNING
Suffocation risk due to low oxygen
levels when operating the device.
Ø
Ensure there is an adequate supply
of fresh air into the dwelling.
Ø
Make sure that the device is
connected to a window contact
switch for safe operation.
Ø
Make sure that all country-specific
statutory regulations are observed
(e.g. in Germany the requirements of
the federal state's fire regulations).
If there is to be simultaneous operation of an extractor
hood and a room-air supplied fireplace (e.g. gas, oil, or
coal fired heaters, fireplaces, water heaters, gas hobs
or ovens), the following requirements must be met:
Ø
Your local master chimney sweep has approved
the installation of the extractor hood.
Ø
The installation must be done taking the country-
specific regulations of your federal state into
account (e.g. the state fire regulations).
Ø
The installation must be done taking all the
regulatory and legal requirements into
consideration (e.g. state building codes).
In extracted air mode, the device draws in air from the
room and expels it outwards through the exhaust pipe.
The device can only extract the amount of air that is
drawn into the kitchen.
The cross-section, length, type and course of the
exhaust pipe affect the extraction efficiency of an
extractor hood greatly.
Power loss and noise can be created by tightly diverted
air in the exhaust pipe.
To ensure optimum performance of the device, you
should ensure that, when installing the exhaust hose:
§
The exhaust hose is as short and direct as possible.
§
The room air to be extracted is able to flow freely
through the exhaust pipe without turbulence and
back pressure.
§
The prescribed cross-section of the exhaust pipe is
observed.
§
The recommended composition of the exhaust pipe
is maintained throughout its length.
The following section explains what the requirements
and properties of the exhaust pipe should be.
Exhaust in a separate exhaust duct.
DANGER
Suffocation risk from smoke or fumes.
Ø
Make sure that the exhaust channel
used is only used and designed for
operating an exhaust hood.
Ø
Ensure that the exhaust channel is
only used by this device. If
connecting the device to an active
exhaust duct, like a ventilation shaft
or chimney, gases or fumes could be
drawn into the room.
DANGER
Fire hazard due to flammable exhaust
pipe.
Running a flammable exhaust pipe
through a second room or attic could
spread a fire into other rooms.
Ø
Ensure that the exhaust pipe is
made of non-combustible material in
accordance with DIN 4102 class A1.
You may only extract the room air through a separate
and suitably designed exhaust channel to the outside.
Ø
Ensure that the exhaust channel used is only used
by this device as an exhaust pipe.
