Terminals for the window contact switch
You can connect a window contact switch to the
terminals for the window contact switch. The extractor
hood's fan is only operational when the window is
open.
The control cable needs to be laid from the window
switch to the connection terminals for the window
contact switch in the extractor hood.
The terminals for the window contact switch are
marked in the extractor hood with "Fensterschalter"
(window switch).
To connect the control cable, you need to attach the
two wires of the control cable to the terminals 1 and 2
for the window contact switch in the extractor hood.
The following step describes how the window contact
switch is connected.
For this work step, you need a small Phillips
screwdriver for the connection terminals in the berbel
extractor hood.
Ø
Lay the window switch's control cable to the
device.
Ø
Make sure that the terminals for the window
contact switch are accessible in the extractor hood.
In the top corner of the fan box are the terminals for the
window contact switch and the wall box contacts. The
terminals are labelled with "Fensterschalter" (window
switch) and "BMK" or "Mauerkasten" (wall box). The
terminal pairs are marked with 1 and 2.
To connect the control cable, proceed as follows:
Ø
Open the screw of the "Fensterschalter" terminal 1.
Ø
Take the wire 1 of the control cable.
Ø
Insert wire 1 into terminal 1.
Ø
Make sure that the wire-end ferrule of the control
cable is completely inserted into the terminal.
Ø
Make sure that the insulation of the control cable is
not in the terminal.
