the right stretch drum.
4. Screw the lower cable stretch barrel on the (or off) bottom plate until it is as close as possible to the
bearing, without touching it.
5. Screw the cable regulator to the upper cable splitter to eliminate all the tension. Then screw the cable
adjuster once again to raise the bearing 1mm more on the opposite direction of the lower handle stretch
drums.
Do not screw the cable adjuster on the upper cable splitter more than 8mm. Use the rear brake lever
cable adjuster if you need a higher setting.
6. Check the bearing noise by placing the handlebar to its normal direction, then rotating it rapidly back
and forth. Follow the steps below to eliminate bearing noise.
You never should allow the bearing to rest on the bottom plate or on the stretch drums of the lower cable.
a) Screw the lower cable stretch drums out (or inside) of the bottom plate to eliminate any noise gen-
erated by the bearing.
b) Tighten the right stretch drum lock nut to the lower cable.
c) Turn the handlebar 180 degrees and recheck the bearing noise. If the bearing produces some noises,
use the stretch drums “loose” over the cables on the top and bottom to eliminate it.
d) Repeat steps (6a) and (6c) until the handlebar can rotate 360 degrees without the bearing producing
noises.
e) Finish tightening the rear brakes.
