Using the hand knob supplied to tighten the extension pole by turning the knob clockwise.
Make sure the knob has been tightened completely. See Figure 2 below.

Release the extension pole knob by turning it anti-clockwise. Place one hand on one pole
section and the other hand on the other section. Pull the pole sections together to shorten
the overall length or pull apart to lengthen. See Figure 19 below;

NOTE:
Extend the telescopic pole only to the length required to reach the hedges and branches
being trimmed. Do not extend the handle above waist height. When the desired length is
achieved, tighten the extension pole knob screw.
NOTE:
Adjust hand placement on the telescopic pole grip or additional handle to achieve proper
balance. Do this in combination with using the shoulder strap as described previously. Do not
attempt to use the pole hedge trimmer or branch lopper at a length which does not allow you to
achieve proper footing and balance at all times.
