Cooling Medium
Water should preferably be used as cooling medium, because air does not ensure ade-
quate cooling at high temperatures. The water must be clean to avoid dirt deposits in the
cooling jacket which would have an adverse effect on the cooling efficiency.
The enclosed diagram shows the amount of cooling water required for the detectors
LB 44... / LB 54.... The ambient temperature was taken into consideration in calculating
the required quantities, but not any possible heat emission by the surrounding compo-
nents, e.g. containers, pipelines, etc. In this case, a higher rate of cooling water may be
required.
