Quick charging
If you have forgotten to charge the foil shaver before use, the quick-charge function can help. Connect the device to the
power supply. The device will be ready for a complete shave using battery operation within 5 minutes.
Mains operation
To operate the device with the supplied mains adapter, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the mains adapter to a suitable socket.
2. Plug the other end of the mains adapter into the connection socket on the underside of the device. The battery indica-
tor shows you the current battery state in percent and the charge indicator begins to flash. The mains adapter supplies
enough energy to charge the battery and operate the device at the same time.
3. After use, pull the mains adapter from the socket and the device.
WARNING
Never use the device in the shower when it is being operated via the mains.
The hand-held part of the device must be disconnected from the connection cable before use in a damp environment.
8. Usage
Travel lock
The device has a travel lock. If the travel lock is activated, it is not possible to switch on the device. The travel lock prevents
the device from switching on by accident (e.g. when transporting it in a suitcase).
To activate the travel lock, press and hold the ON/OFF switch
for 3 seconds.
The travel lock indicator lights up.
If the ON/OFF switch
is briefly pressed when the device is locked, the travel lock symbol will light up in the display to
indicate that the device is locked.
To deactivate the travel lock, press and hold the ON/OFF switch
for 3 seconds again.
Direct drive function
If the battery is completely flat, you can continue using the device immediately via mains operation.
Tips for shaving/trimming
• Clean your face before shaving to remove any dirt or grease from the skin. This will reduce skin irritation and make the
shave feel more pleasant.
• Apply light pressure to keep skin irritation to a minimum.
• Shave the most awkward areas first, such as under the nose and along the jawline. This is because the shaving foil is
still cool at the start of the shave. If you need to shave over these awkward areas multiple times towards the end of your
shave, the shaving foil may have warmed up and this can feel unpleasant.
• Try to stretch the skin being shaved using your fingers.
• The shorter the beard hair is, the more effectively the foil shaver will shave.
• If you switch from wet to dry shaving (or vice versa), it may take up to 3 weeks for your skin to get used to the new
method.
Shaving
Before you start shaving, make sure that the foil shaver is charged (see Section “7. Initial use”).
1. Ensure that the triple-blade shaving system is properly attached.
2. Remove the protective cap/three-day stubble attachment if it is still attached.
3. Press the ON/OFF switch
to switch on the foil shaver. The charging status indicator and battery indicator begin to
light up. The battery indicator shows you the remaining battery life in percent.
4. Apply light pressure as you move the shaving foil across the areas of the face to be shaved.
5. When you have shaved all the required areas of your face, switch the foil shaver off. Press the ON/OFF switch
to
switch off the foil shaver.
6. Clean the shaving foil after every shave using the cleaning brush provided. For thorough cleaning, read section “9.
Cleaning and maintenance”.
