4. Use
This scale is used to determine the weight of human beings. The scale has a weighing range up to
330 lbs (150 kg).
4.1 Batteries
If present, pull the battery insulating strip off the battery compartment cover or remove the battery’s
protective film and insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove
the battery completely and insert it again. Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator.
When the scale is operated with a battery which is too weak, “Lo” appears in the display field and
the scale automatically switches off.

The battery must be replaced in this case (3 x AAA 1,5V). The used, completely drained
standard and rechargeable batteries must be disposed of in specially marked collection
containers, at toxic waste collection points or electrical product retailers. You are legally
obligated to dispose of the batteries.
Note: Batteries containing pollutants are marked with the following symbols: Pb = Bat-
tery contains lead, Cd = Battery contains cadmium, Hg = Battery contains mercury.
Place the scale on a firm, flat surface; a firm floor covering is a basic requirement for
correct weight measurement.
Note: On delivery the scale is set to the unit "kg". If the scale is used with the English
language setting the units can be changed with the switch on the top of the scale. Select "kilo-
grams" (kg), "pounds" (lb) or "stone" (st).
4.2 Measuring weight
Place the scale on a firm level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is
required for correct measurement.
Audibly, briefly and firmly tap the scale with your foot to active the vibration
sensor!
The entire display (Fig. 1) appears up to “0.0” (Fig. 2) as a self-test
(tap-on technology).
