Battery regeneration indicator (Only in CITY 700 AVANT versions)
In CITY 700 AVANT, the electrical system includes a regeneration function which allows for an
optimum use and a braking energy recovery, which results in the battery recharging.
To optimize regeneration, the brake lever shall be pressed approximately 20% of its total trajectory,
such as illustrated below. When the system is regenerating the battery, a regeneration icon will light up
in the control console. As the pressure applied on the lever increases, the mechanical brake will be used
in a greater proportion than the electrical brake.
The level of energy recovered when braking depends on the bicycle’s use. As an average, it is
guaranteed that regeneration optimizes the battery's energy between 20 - 35%.
The electrical brake is not a replacement for the mechanical brake. The mechanical brake
allows the user to stop instantly in a short braking distance (for example, a braking distance of 1
metre when riding at 25km/h), while the electrical brake allows for a longer braking distance (for
example, 10 metres when riding at 25km/h).
