16  RIVA ADVANCE USER MANUAL

When you expect not to use the boiler for a long period:

•  Switch off the electricity supply to the boiler, by means of the circuit breaker;

•  Shut off the gas supply cock connected to the gas inlet pipe and the cock connected to the

supply cold water inlet pipe (see section 3.3 for pipes);

•  Empty the water circuit, if necessary, as shown in the installation, operation and service

instructions manual in the maintenance section.

5.  Instructions For Use Cont.

5.7 Domestic hot water temperature:

With the tank connected and NTC tank

probe:

The temperature of the hot water contained

in the tank can only be adjusted if the tank

has  a  specific  NTC  probe  that  detects  the

temperature.

The temperature of the domestic hot water

contained  in  the  tank  can  be  adjusted  to  a

maximum of approx. 140 °F, turning the boil-

er setting knob indicated in Figure 5.11.

If there is a large amount of limestone in the

water, a small water softener should be in-

stalled.

To avoid any risks related to the formation of

microorganisms (legionella) in the domestic

hot water, activate the antilegionella function

(see “Antilegionella function” on page 26 to

Installer manual).

This  function  raises  the  temperature  of  the

water in the tank to above 149 °F for a cer-

tain period of time, thereby eliminating  any

microorganisms in the water.

Maximum

With the tank connected and tank ther-

mostat:

The temperature of the tank serpentine de-

livery water can be changed by turning the

boiler setting knob in Figure 5.11. For opti-

mal tank efficiency, the knob shown in Figure

5.11 should be set to the maximum.
