How to check the installation
At the installer's charge.
Make sure that the devices used to fix the casing of PS440/xxx - PS440-A/xxx and D440IS are
efficient.
Make sure that the devices used to fix the junction boxes and connection cables are efficient.
Each component must be installed in a fixed way.
Make sure that the cables of intrinsic safety circuits are sufficiently protected and that they are
identified by "INTRINSIC SAFETY CIRCUITS" labels.
The raceways of intrinsic safety circuits must also be identified by labels.
Make sure that the intrinsic safety circuits are separated from other, non-exi, circuits.
Check the cable accesses in the cable clamps.
Make sure that the connections to the terminal boards are made with pins and that there are no
copper wires that could reduce the distance of the circuits in air.
The cable clamps must be adequately tightened.
Unused cable clamps must be plugged.
Make sure that the casings are closed with the supplied screws and that the seals are well
seated.
Make sure that D440IS has been grounded with the yellow-green cable and safety screw.
Make sure that all metal parts of the system have been grounded.
Check how power supplier PS440/xxx - PS440-A/xxx has been connected to the power main
and the external devices. Make sure that these components have been protected against over-
voltage exceeding 250 Vrms/375 VDC.
Make sure that a knife switch has been installed in the vicinity of the terminal/power supplier.
Calibrate the instrument and conduct a functional test after having come to agreements with the
person in charge of internal maintenance.
