LAN - Local Area Network
A Local Area Network (LAN) is a shared communication system network where many computers
are connected. This type of network is area defined and is usually limited to a confined region within
a building.
Ethernet
Parameters
Group Name:
This refers to the group you set in
Interface Grouping
section; you can set the
parameters for the specific group. Select the group via the drop-down box. For more information
please refer to
Interface Grouping
of this manual.
IP address:
the IP address of the router. Default is 192.168.1.254.
Subnet Mask:
the default Subnet mask on the router.
IGMP Snooping:
Enable or disable the IGMP Snooping function. Without IGMP snooping,
multicast traffic is treated in the same manner as broadcast traffic - that is, it is forwarded to all
ports. With IGMP snooping, multicast traffic of a group is only forwarded to ports that have
members of that group.”
When enabled, you will see two modes:
Standard Mode:
In standard mode, multicast traffic will flood to all bridge ports when no
client subscribes to a multicast group.
Blocking Mode:
In blocking mode, the multicast data will be blocked when there are no
client subscribes to a multicast group, it won’t flood to the bridge ports.
LAN side firewall:
Enable to drop all traffic from the specified LAN group interface. After activating it,
