Configuring emergency operation (PtMP and PtP connections)
Emer gen cy ope ra ti on is not con fi gu red as a fac to ry de fault fea tu re. A sli de switch is lo ca ted on the bot tom of the sys -
tem te le pho ne that can be used for con fi gu ring emergency operation.
To con fi gu re the emer gen cy ope ra ti on fea tu re, sli de the switch on the left side on the bot tom of the pho ne down. To
de-ac ti va te emer gen cy ope ra ti on, sli de the switch back to the top position.

At ten ti on: Be fo re you move the emer gen cy ope ra ti on switch un plug the ISDN con nec tor for the sys tem te -
le pho ne. Use a non-me tall ic tool to move the switch.
Configuring emergency operation at a point-to-point (PtP) connection
If you wish to also use your sys tem te le pho ne for emer gen cy ope ra ti on at a PtP con nec ti on you must also ac ti va te this
fea tu re using the PC con fi gu ra ti on for your sys tem te le pho ne. You can use the con fi gu ra ti on pro gram to set emer -
gen cy operation at a PtP connection.
Making calls during emergency operation at a point-to-multipoint connection
The sys tem te le pho ne be gins emer gen cy ope ra ti on when po wer supp ly for the PABX sys tem and the NT is lost.
Emer gen cy ope ra ti on, fol lo wed by a te le pho ne sym bol is then shown in the sys tem telephone display.
If the 230 V AC po wer supp ly is res to red du ring an on going call, all nor mal, con fi gu red functions are avai la ble again
only af ter you hang up the hand set. If the 230V~ po wer supp ly is res to red when the hand set is in the crad le, the emer -
gen cy ope ra ti on dis play is re pla ced by the nor mal dis play when the hand set is lifted, or on the next call.
Making calls at emergency power supply mode on a point-to-point connection
Du ring emer gen cy po wer supp ly mode at a point-to-point con nec ti on, you will see the nor mal ope ra ti on displays.
