The sys tem te le pho ne is rea dy for con nec ti on to the cor re spon ding in ter nal con nec tor of the PABX / elmeg hybird .
On the PABX / elmeg hybirdthe sys tem te le pho ne pro vi des va ri ous per for man ce fea tu res that are ty pi cal of this sys -

Operating the function keys
Press the cor re spon ding functi on key. The functi on pro gram med on the key is exe cu ted. If an LED functi on is also as -
so cia ted with this functi on, the LED is swit ched on or off ac cor ding to the functi on executed.
You can re ach the se cond lay er of functi on keys by pres sing the keys twi ce. This must be done quic kly.
Important notes on LED functions
The sta tes of the LEDs are not per ma nent ly re fres hed in the sys tem te le pho ne. If the se functions are mo di fied or swit -
ched by a code or PC con fi gu ra ti on on the PABX, the sta te of the LED does not chan ge. If the sys tem te le pho ne is dis -
con nec ted from the ISDN net work (e.g. par king a call), the LEDs are off when re con nec ting the sys tem te le pho ne.
Pres sing a functi on key up da tes the dis play of the as sig ned LEDs and the per for man ce fea tu re in the PABX is
activated or deactivated.
Ex am ple: You can switch the an noun ce ment functi on on your sys tem te le pho ne on and off using the functi on key
through the PC con fi gu ra ti on of the PABX. Pres sing the functi on key swit ches off the an noun ce ment and the as sig -
ned LED is updated.
Function keys
The sys tem te le pho ne has five functi on keys that can be as sig ned with va ri ous functions in two lay ers.
Each key has a two-co lour LED that can be used to dis play the functions of the keys. Each co lour is as sig ned to a lay er
of the functi on key.
