Installation Guide and User’s Manual for Fostbuster MI 340 & MI 800

Never place dry flammable objects in front of the openings. Fire Hazard!
•
The casing becomes hot during operation. Install the device in such a way as to avoid as much
accidental contact as possible. Danger!! You may burn yourself!! The device cools down very
slowly after being switched off.
•
The device is not intended for use by people (including children) with limited physical, sensorial
or mental abilities, or people without sufficient knowledge and experience of such products,
unless supervised by a responsible person.
4. Notes on Operation
•
The device is intended for heating and CO2 accumulation in small greenhouses.
•
The device must be installed on a stable and temperature-resistant – not flammable – surface.
•
Important! Despite smoothing procedures, the casing may still have some sharp edges.
Danger! Risk of cuts!
•
The four drilled holes in the case flanging are intended for securing the device.
•
The minimum distance between flammable parts for MI 300 and MI 340 devices must be 30 cm.
Concerning the MI 800, the minimum distance is 60 cm. The gas connection pipe must not be
laid on or beside the device.
•
Position the device in an area of your greenhouse with good air circulation.
•
We recommend a position approx. 30-40 cm above the floor.
•
This device is not suitable for orchid breeding, since some orchids do not tolerate CO2
accumulation. If you are unsure of whether your greenhouse plants are suitable for C02
accumulation, ask a gardener.
•
Important! The casing becomes hot during operation! Leave to cool before transportation.
•
Note for MI 800: The burner orientation has been adjusted to ensure correct functioning and
may not be changed. After fitting the gas pipe, please check that a distance of 15 mm exists
between the burner tip and the floor panel.
5. Installation
There are two fastening holes on each support surface which serve to secure the device. This
prevents the device from falling or tipping over. The device must not be assembled to near to a
storage area. This prevents even air circulation throughout the room. Concerning the MI 300 and MI
340, a minimum distance of 30 cm should be left between flammable objects at all sides. For the MI
800, a minimum distance of 60 cm should be ensured at all sides.
Never coveranyofthe heatoutlets orthe air inlets.
All gas appliances must be installed by a competent installer i.e. CORGI registered engineers. As
defined by the "Gas Safety (Installation and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 1990" CORGI
registered engineers can be found in Yellow Pages.
When connecting and installing the unitall regulations in force with local and national authorities
must be adhered to.
In use this heaterwill get hot. When in use always approach with care.
