2. General
After unpacking and before using, check that the apparatus and all its accessories are complete and in
perfect condition. In case of transportation damage, immediately contact the relevant distributor or
manufacturer. Keep the packaging material (poly bag, polystyrene, nails etc.) out of reach of children,
since they are potentially hazardous. This also applies to small enclosed components which can be
swallowed.
3. Safety and hazard notes
•
Contact a specialist if you are in doubt about the function or safety of the apparatus.
•
Empty remaining paraffin out of the tank if the apparatus will not be used for a longer period.
•
This heating apparatus is intended only for use in greenhouses.
•
Keep a minimum distance of 30 cm to flammable parts.
•
The apparatus must be placed on a firm and heat resistant – non-flammable – surface.
•
Warning! Despite de-burring, the housing may nevertheless have sharp edges. Risk of
cutting!
•
Any paraffin overflow must be wiped away thoroughly.
Fire hazard!
•
In the greenhouse, position the apparatus in a spot with good ventilation. Avoid a draft, however,
since this may extinguish the flame.
•
This apparatus is not suited for use in orchid and cactus cultivation, since some orchids don’t
tolerate raised CO
2
levels well. If you are not sure whether your greenhouse plants are suited for
raised CO
2
levels, ask a gardener.
•
Warning!
The housing heats up when in use! Allow to cool down before transporting/moving.
•
The apparatus is not suited for use in homes or rooms for animal husbandry.
•
Keep the fuel element clean.Do not carry the apparatus around when it is lit; and do not top it up
whilst burning.
Fire hazard!
•
Use premium paraffin only. Do not use other flammable liquids or fuels, such as lamp oil, for
instance.
•
Do not allow water to enter the tank.
