Mop up with plenty of water and run to waste, diluting at least 20:1.
HANDLING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE BOTTLE
Wear protective gloves. Inspect outer bag containing peroxide bottle for
signs of liquid before opening. If any liquid is present in the bag
DO
NOT OPEN
. Discard safely.
If there are no signs of liquid in the bag open carefully and remove
bottle. Keep bottle upright at all times.
Do not squeeze bottle.
Do not remove the bottle cap at any time or harmful liquid may spill
out.
ENCLOSURE INTEGRITY
Ensure that the chamber’s seals are not damaged and there has been no
damage which could affect its integrity and thus lead to hydrogen
peroxide vapour escaping.
HPV GENERATOR HOSE CONNECTION
Ensure that the hoses are connected between the HPV Generator and
the WIC correctly. The rings on the end of the Camlock levers ought to
be fixed in the closed position with the hose connected.
BEFORE RUNNING A CYCLE
Ensure all personnel are out of the chamber and close the door
Check that all hoses and tubes are properly connected and secured in
place.
DURING A CYCLE
Do not disconnect the hoses
Do not attempt to open the enclosure.
AT THE END OF AERATION
Check that the vapour concentration is at, or below, the safe
occupational exposure level (OEL) before opening the enclosure. This is
to be done by an independent means using the sample point.
IF THE CYCLE ABORTS DURING GASSING OR AERATION
For the chamber to allow entry a successful Aeration is required. Run an
Aeration only cycle. Only enter once vapour concentration is at, or
below, the OEL.
VISIBLE LIQUID
in the enclosure must be treated as concentrated
Hydrogen Peroxide. Observe Hydrogen Peroxide handling precautions
and remove liquid by diluting with water at least 20:1 and wiping up.
