1.8 Unauthorised reconstruction and production of spares
Reconstruction of or changes to pumps are only permissible after consultation with the manu-
facturer.
Genuine spare parts and accessories authorised by the manufacturer serve the cause of safety.
The use of other parts can cancel any liability for the resultant consequences of this.
1.9 Improper operating methods
The operating reliability of the pumps supplied is only guaranteed with appropriate application
of the section «Intended application» of the Installation and Operating Instructions. The limit
values given in the technical data must not be exceeded on any account.

2.2 Contents of these instructions
These installation and operating instructions apply to Biral ComBo pressure booster systems.
Biral pressure booster systems are used to pump water and increase the water pressure in
drinking water supply systems in residential complexes, buildings, hotels, industry, hospitals,
schools, etc.
3 Product description
3.1 General description
Biral ComBo booster systems are designed for the pressure boosting of clean water in blocks
of flats, hotels, hospitals, schools, etc.
The ComBo incorporates Biral HP-E or HPC-E pumps with integrated frequency-controlled
single- or three-phase MGE motors and a breaker cabinet.
The system maintains a constant pressure through continuously variable adjustment of the
speed of the pumps connected.
The system adjusts its performance to the demand through cutting in/out the required number
of pumps and through parallel control of the pumps in operation.
The system has been factory-assembled and tested with the control parameters mentioned in
the quick guide supplied with the booster system.
