Installation
Remove the Birko Vertical toaster from the packaging; be certain that all protective plastics and
residues are thoroughly cleaned from its surface.
Locate the Birko Vertical toaster on a firm level surface.
International standards and regulations should be consulted in order to abide by standards set in
relation to positioning, spacing and ventilation of the product.
Once the Vertical toaster has been placed in position ensure the crumb tray has been put into place.
Supply the appropriate power and connect to mains. The toaster is now ready to turn on and
operate. (For power supply please see technical specification sheet, page 7).
Operation
For faster results, it is suggested the Vertical toaster should be turned on prior to usage to allow to
warm up, 5 minutes is sufficient. The Vertical Toaster is designed to toast up to a maximum of 6
slices of bread. The bread must be free of any condiments or coatings such as butter, margarine or
jam etc.
The Vertical Toaster is controlled by time. Adjusting the timer to the required setting provides full
power to the elements. When the time is selected the elements will automatically be activated at full
power, when time has lapsed the elements will automatically be switched off.
Please note the rocker switch allows you to operate all elements or alternatively only 3 slots of the
toaster. Place the sliced bread into the toaster slots and select either the 3/P or 6/P position for
toasting either 3 or 6 pieces of toast.
Lower the toast by operating the handle at the front of the appliance.
At the end of the cooking time raise the toast by operating the handle and carefully remove each
slice. Be careful as the bread and the appliance will both be hot. Note this is a manual Vertical
toaster, so the toast will remain in the chamber until you have manually lifted the leaver to remove
the toast.
Children or infirm persons must not be allowed to operate these appliances unless adequately
supervised.
