Take care when reversing. Ensure that your speed is low before
reversing. Please bear in mind that you need to steer in the
opposite direction when you are reversing. This requires practice.
Also practice this on a level area with ample space.
•
To reverse, carefully pull the left lever (fig. 29) towards you. A loud
signal sounds while reversing.
Please note that, for safety reasons, the reversing
speed is only half the speed going forward.
•
If you are cornering sharply, turn the handlebars before you
accelerate. Always take wide lines around corners and obstacles
and drive slowly and with care.
•
When the drive is engaged, releasing the throttle lever
automatically applies a brake. The scooter then cannot be pushed
or moved because the brake is automatically applied to the motors.
4.4. Pushing mode
If you want to push the scooter in certain situations, you must unlock
the brakes. It is easy to push the scooter in free wheel mode.
The electro-mechanical brake does not operate in
pushing mode.
•
Push the unlocking lever (fig. 30) on the right rear backwards.
•
A small jerk will indicate that the drives are now disengaged.
•
To lock, push the lever forwards again, locking then takes place
automatically (fig. 31).
•
The motor has a fly clutch; if you accelerate the scooter too quickly
in pushing mode, the brake engages automatically. It is only
released after you come to a stop.
For safety reasons, the motor drive is locked when
the scooter is being operated in pushing mode.
Caution! Danger of fatal injury! The drives may be
disengaged only on a level surface.
4.4.1. Initiating emergency stop
Should the automatic brake not work as usual while driving, you can
initiate an emergency stop. Proceed as follows:
Turn the key a quarter turn to the left to stop the engine. The rear
wheels will block immediately. Note that you can be thrown forward
by the abrupt stop. Hold on to the handlebars adequately and perform
this emergency stop only in an absolute emergency.
4.5. Overload switch
The controller will cut out if the motor is overloaded, e.g. by driving
uphill for too long. In this case, the ignition just needs to be switched
off and on again in order to start moving again. If this does not work,
this means that the controller has overheated.
In this case, please wait a few minutes. In the event of an electrical
overload, the fuse will shut off the power to the scooter. The overload
switch (Fig. 33) is located on the front of the seat construction (Fig. 34).
After pressing the switch, the scooter should function normally again.
If it does not function as expected, please contact your specialist
retailer or Bischoff & Bischoff customer service.
