1. Charging with AC adapter:
You can charge CYCLOPS2 using the AC adapter via charging contacts. Please be
cautious on the orientation of the connection plug.
2. Charging with USB cable:
You can also start charging CYCLOPS2 through AC cable connected with USB port
of host device.

Do not operate CYCLOPS2 while it is being charged via USB port as the
power surge might damage the USB port.

The USB connection via AC cable can not be used for data transmission. It is for
battery charging purpose only.

It will take about 2.5-hr to fully charge CYCLOPS2 via the AC adapter.
※
It will take about 3-hr to fully charge CYCLOPS2 through USB port.
※
Please do not charge CYCLOPS2 through USB hub.

Please use ONLY the standard AC adapter in CYCLOPS2 box. It might cause
charging failure or damage the device if using other unauthorized AC adapter.
3. Charging Time:
Charging time required will vary depending on the actual application of CYCLOPS2
and the condition of CYCLOPS2 battery pack.

General life span of Li-ion battery pack is around 300 times charging/discharging

As the memory setup parameter cannot be deleted,
please initialize the memory first then delete the data

“ reverse barcode scanner”, please scan the
“reversed DEFAULT” setup barcode at the right.
Memory Initialization:
Memory Initialization will delete all data and values in the memory.
Please scan the barcode at the right side which can initialize the memory.

deleted after memory initialization.
Simple ways to start CYCLOPS II:
1. Power ON
Press the SCAN button for 3-second to turn ON and Scan LED will light up as well.
After power ON, scan LED will go off and CYCLOPS2 is standing-by for scanning.
2. Power OFF
When CYCLOPS2 is standing-by for a period of time, it will be OFF automatically
(default: 3-min) to conserve battery power
. There is no “POWER” switch on
CYCLOPS2.
3. RESET to Default System Value
Please press the RESET button while CYCLOPS2 is ON (it will be OFF
automatically after been RESET).
4. Bluetooth Communication
Before using Bluetooth communication, please make Paring connection with the
host device.
Default PIN code is
“0000”. You can easily start connection through Bluetooth
host device and can be confirmed by the BT LED status indication.
Also, you can scan configuration barcodes to switch communication mode to SPP
Master.
5. Barcode Scanning
Please press the SCAN key to scan the barcode.
Scanning result can be confirmed by the SCAN LED
status. Scanning the setup barcode at the right to
confirm if CYCLOPS2 is able to scan.
Communication with iPad and iPhone:
Under default, you can easily connect iPad or iPhone using BT HID Profile. Software
keyboard on iPad or iPhone can be displayed or hidden by pressing the FUNCTION
key on CYCLOPS2.

read the Guide to understand all the details about CYCLOPS2 and how to tailor this
device further into your applications.

Since the Configuration Guide can be shown on LCD monitor and CYCLOPS2 is
designed to read barcodes in various forms, on various media. You can scan those
configuration barcodes directly on LCD screen and set CYCLOPS2 up accordingly. It is
not necessary to print Configuration Guide on paper as hard copy for scanning purpose.
Duplication of Configuration Data:
You can easily duplicate the Configuration data from one CYCLOPS2 to the other unit.
This will provide an easy and accurate way for multiple units CYCLOPS2 operations.
1. Configure the first unit CYCLOPS2 through setup barcodes scanning.
2. Connect the first CYCLOPS2 unit with host device through USB cable to transfer
the Configuration data to host device (SYSTEM.CFG file).
3. Connect the other CYCLOPS2 unit with host device through USB cable to
download the configuration data from host device.
Long Term Storage of CYCLOPS2:

Please store this device in dry environment.

When the device is under Batch Mode and been kept OFF for an extended period of
time, Date & Time data might be RESET due to the battery power been drained.
●
Always charge CYCLOPS2 before using and refer to the Configuration Guide to set
Date & Time properly.
How to Dispose CYCLOPS2 Properly:
CYCLOPS2 is implemented with Li-ion battery which is recyclable and important
resource.
If you send CYCLOPS2 back to your supplier, it will be disassembled and the Li-ion
battery will be recycled. If you want to dispose this device by yourself, please remember
to pull out the battery and recycle it properly following regulations and rules set up by
your local authority.

The way to disassemble CYCLOPS2:
Remove the four screws on the back of CYCLOPS2.
Open the enclosure and remove the screws fixing the battery pack then you can pull
out the battery.

Notice when you are disassembling:
Please tape the metal part of the battery for proper insulation to avoid short-circuit.
