MODEL PRO 5.5
STEP ONE CLEAN UP INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: Clean up is the most important part of ownership with your MODEL PRO 5.5
Sprayer. Dried by-products act like glue and will cause moving parts to stick. Failure to
properly clean your MODEL PRO 5.5 will cause damage to the unit. Taking the time to clean
your MODEL PRO 5.5 immediately after use will help your MODEL PRO 5.5 to last longer
and work correctly. If you are finished with the project or are not going to use the sprayer
within the day you must follow these instructions for proper clean up. Never store the
MODEL PRO 5.5 longer than 30 minutes without cleaning.

1. Unplug your MODEL PRO 5.5 from the electrical outlet.
2. Empty any remaining (stain or paint) material from the Container.
3. Fill Container approximately 1/2 full with appropriate cleaning solution; for latex use warm

soapy water; for oil based use a cleaning solution recommended by the material
manufacturer. See Figure G.

4. Plug in MODEL PRO 5.5 to an electrical outlet.
5. Press the Switch of the MODEL PRO 5.5 until the cleaning solution comes through the

MODEL PRO 5.5 for several seconds.

6. Remove Container and properly discard the cleaning solution.
7. Unplug the MODEL PRO 5.5 from the electrical outlet.

MODEL PRO 5.5
STEP TWO CLEAN UP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CYLINDER HOUSING

1. Unplug your MODEL PRO 5.5 from the electrical outlet.
2. Pull out Pick-Up Tube.
3. Release Cylinder Locking Knob. See Figure I.
4. Remove Spray Tip, Atomizer Valve, Cylinder Housing, Piston Spring, and Piston and clean

thoroughly with cleaning solution and Cleaning Brush. Reassemble all parts in the reverse
order as was taken apart.

5. Lubricate all moving parts with lightweight oil.
6. For re-assembly, reinsert Cylinder Housing into the Housing of PRO 5.5, a click will occur

when the Cylinder Housing is engaged into the Housing. For MODEL PRO 5.5, replace the
Cylinder Locking Knob.

7. Turn the MODEL PRO 5.5 sprayer upside down, then put in a small amount of Petroleum Oil

into the longer port located in the Cylinder Housing and Switch briefly. See Figure J. This
prevents the piston and cylinder from rusting.

8. Reassemble the Pick-Up Tube and the Container.

MODEL PRO 5.5
PETROLEUM OIL INSTRUCTIONS

Lubricating the MODEL PRO 5.5 prior to storage is extremely important in the preservation of
life of the Cylinder Housing and its components.
1. Unplug your MODEL PRO 5.5 from the electrical outlet.
2. Empty any remaining (stain or paint) material from the Container and remove the Pick-Up Tube.
3. Plug the MODEL PRO 5.5 into the electrical outlet.
4. Turn the MODEL PRO 5.5 upside down.
5. Squeeze a small amount of Petroleum Oil into the Pick-Up Tube port and on the Cylinder

Pump Housing, See Figure J.

6. Press the Switch of the MODEL PRO 5.5 for 3 to 5 seconds while the MODEL PRO 5.5 is still

turned upside down. This will cause the Petroleum Oil to go onto the Piston and will protect
the MODEL PRO 5.5 from drying and seizing of the Piston.

7. Turn the MODEL PRO 5.5 right side up and reinstall the Pick-Up Tube and Container.
8. Unplug your MODEL PRO 5.5 from the electrical outlet and store.
