6.2 Receiving a Fax Document
When someone calls you to send a fax document, use
the following procedure to answer the call and
receive the document.
1. When the telephone rings, lift the telephone
handset from the cradle. Leave the handset out
of the cradle.
Do not
hang it up, or you will
terminate the call.
2. To use a fax/modem, use your fax software’s
manual answer or manual receive command to
answer the call.
Or, to use a fax machine, press its
Start
button on
the fax machine.
3. After you receive the document, return the
handset to the cradle.
4. To hang up a fax/modem, use your fax software’s
call-termination feature.
Or, to hang up a fax machine, press its
Stop
button.
