Activating backlighting
In low-light conditions, you can increase readability of the LCD screen and
keyboard by using the backlighting feature.
To activate backlighting, press the silver key once. If you do not press any keys or
use the trackwheel for ten seconds, backlighting will shut off automatically.
To turn off the backlighting manually, press the silver key again.
Navigating functions
The LCD screen provides access to your handheld’s functions. When you turn on
your handheld, the Home screen appears. From this screen, you can open each of
the function screens. On each function screen, you can view function menus. On
some screens, you can change settings or options.
To open functions
The functions list appears on the Home screen. To open a function’s screen, scroll
to an icon and click the trackwheel (or press the underlined character in the
function name).

To navigate menus
Menus provide a list of available options or actions for the current function. To
open a function screen’s menu, click the trackwheel. The menu appears on the right
of the screen and covers approximately half of the LCD screen’s width.
