control screen for any of these loops.

The screen requires you to enter a number that defines the channel you want to modify:
00

channel, or a sub-channel number (
01
to
24
).
Type

The Current State line shows the current status of the local loops: on or off. For the Stat-24, the sub-channels
are arranged on three lines.
Procedure:
To change the condition of any test loop, type the appropriate code number, to go to the loop control screen
(the typical screen is explained in 22).
If you type an incorrect number, the following message will be displayed:
WRONG CHANNEL NUMBER ENTER THE REQUIRED CHANNEL NUMBER AGAIN (01–24)
OR Q TO EXIT:
After reading the message, enter again the correct value. After completing the required actions, type
Q

return to the DIAGNOSTICS screen.
20. Remote Loops Screen
Purpose:
View the current status of the individual remote sub-channel and composite channel loops and go to
the control screen for any of these loops (see 22). Its functions are similar to those of the Local Loops screen,
described in 19.
NOTE
Remote digital loopback is performed by toggling pin 21 to the modem connected to
the local stat mux. This forces the modem to transmit a command to the remote
modem.
Before attempting to perform loopback, make sure that:
1. The local and remote modems do have V.54 remote loopback capability.
2. Pin 21 of the local modem is configured to accept loop command.
3. Jumper PIN 21 of the stat mux is set to ON.
