Before using a wheelchair, make sure that all parts are
properly assembled and tightened, in particular the foo-
trest. If the footrests are adjustable in height, make sure
they allow to sit comfortably with a correct leg angle.
Make sure that brakes function properly. While activating
the brakes on both wheels, push the chair forward and
backward; braked wheels are expected to not rotate.
The parking brake is one of the most important safety
devices featured on this wheelchair. It is a brake that ope-
rates directly on the tires.
The brakes must be fully functional. The braking effect of
the push brake may be impaired if:
•
the sides of the tires are worm out
•
tires are wet
•
tire pressure is low
Check tire pressure on a regular basis and before leaving
your premises!
Recommended:
Ø 550 light wheel (max 7.0 bar) in case of doubt look at
the sidewall of tyre.
Make sure that the wheel spokes are tightened up.
