Operating Instructions

1. Verify that all personnel are competent and that they have read and understood the safety

information in this manual. All personnel must follow all safety instructions and
programs required by their company and the worksite.

2. Verify that the BP-9-1 10V is on a level, clean, debris-free and dry surface. Connect the

hose from the dust collector to the BP-9-1 10V. Verify that all clamps are secure.

3. Verify that the dust bin in the dust collector is empty and that the hose is free of debris.
4. Verify that the switch on the control panel of the BP-9-1 10V is set to the OFF position.
5. Verify that the switch on the control panel of the dust collector is set to the OFF position.
6. After confirming proper voltage with a voltmeter, insert the plug from the BP-9-1 10V

into a 110 volt electrical outlet.

7. After confirming proper voltage, insert the plug from the dust collector into a 110 volt

electrical outlet.

Note: Use an outlet which is operated by a separate circuit breaker from the outlet
being used to power the BP-9-1 10V.

8. Make sure that any hardwiring or circuit breaker changes are performed by a licensed

electrician.

9. Before loading the steel shot into machine, turn the switch on the BP-9-1 10V and the dust

collector to the ON position for two minutes so as to verify that the circuit breaker will
not trip.

10. Disconnect the hose from the BP-9-1 10V to verify that the dust collector has proper

suction.

11. After verifying proper suction, reconnect the hose to the BP-9- 11 0V.
12. Check the seals on the BP-9-1 10V to verify that the seals are set at the proper height.

The seals should be rubbing the surface of the concrete or steel.

13. Place a handful of steel shot in front of the BP-9-110V.

14. Push the BP-9-1 10V over the handful of steel shot. This will attach the steel shot to the

magnetic seals and prevent shot from escaping from the BP-9-1 10V.

15. Pour steel shot into the BP9-1 10V shot hopper to the bottom of the screen.
16. Turn the switch on the BP-9-1 10V to the ON position, squeeze the shot valve to open the

shot valve, and push the BP-9-1 10V. Verify that the blast pattern is uniform. If blast
pattern is uniform, then proceed to step #19. If blast pattern is not uniform, then release
the shot valve handle to close the shot valve, turn the switch on the BP-9-1 10V to the
OFF position, and proceed to step #17.

17. A d j u s t t h e c o n t r o l c a g e .
18. Turn the switch on the BP-9-1 10V to the ON position, squeeze the shot valve handle to

open the shot valve, push the BP-9-1 10V, and verify that the blast pattern is uniform.

19. Once blast pattern is uniform, start shotblasting.
