Safety notes
Please observe the following safety notes
during the installation and connection.
- Disconnect the negative pole of the battery! Ob-
serve the safety notes of the vehicle manufacturer.
- When you drill holes, ensure that you do not dam-
age any vehicle components.
- If the positive and negative cable are extended, en-
sure that the cross section is not less than
1.5
mm
2
.
- An incorrect installation can result in malfunctions
of the electronic vehicle systems or your car sound
system.
Installation and connection instructions
With respect to accident safety, the Velocity 2Go 5 /
2Go 6 must be installed professionally.
A dry location should be selected for the installation
location.
The Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 must not be installed on
rear shelves, rear seats or other locations that are open
to the front.
The installation surface must be suitable to accept
the enclosed retaining straps or the QuickOut bracket
available as an option (7 606 500 190) and provide
secure support.
To protect the equipment, the +12-V connecting cable
must
be fi tted with a fuse no more than 30 cm from
the battery.
Switching on/off
A specialty of the Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 is its
automatic
switch-on system
.
"Auto" If a music signal is received at one of the
3 inputs, the subwoofer box switches on au-
tomatically if the power switch at the top of
the device is set to "Auto" (automatic), see page
4 / Fig. 2.
If the music signal stays out for more than
60 seconds, the Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 auto-
matically switches off.
"ON"
Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 is always switched on.
"OFF"
Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 is switched off.
Note:
If connected via the multiport, the "Auto" switch-on
system is always activated.
Connection
(see page 3 / Fig. 1)
The connection is connected with battery plus and
vehicle ground.
The control of the Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 should ideally
utilise 2 channels, optionally via the preamplifi er outputs
or the loudspeaker outputs of the car sound system.
A control solely via the right or left channel is also pos-
sible since the low-frequency portion of the music is
generally identical on both channels.
The preamplifi er outputs are connected to the cinch
(RCA) sockets directly at the device or alternatively to
the multiport connecting cable using a shielded cable.
To connect the device, we explicitly recommend
the use of the original Blaupunkt cinch cable
7 607 885 093 (1.3 m) or 7 607 886 093 (5 m).
With control via the loudspeaker outputs of the radio,
the input connections of the multiport connecting cable
are fed to the closest loudspeaker cables (front or rear)
on the left and right. They are separated and connected
to the input connections.
The polarity of the + or - connections must be ob-
served.
Bridge output stages (BTL) can also be connected
directly without an additional adapter.
TIM function
For car sound systems with activated TIM function,
the Velocity 2Go 5 / 2Go 6 should not be controlled via
the cinch inputs, but via the loudspeaker outputs of the
car sound system.
Connection to MP3 player
The connection is implemented by connecting the en-
closed 30 cm connecting cable with 3.5-mm jack plugs
to the MP3-IN signal source (at the top of the device),
see page 4 / Fig. 3.
Please use only the enclosed connecting cable or a
comparable cable with angled connector.
Audio mode switch
(see page 4 / Fig. 4)
The audio mode switch on the top allows switching the
operating mode "Full" range or "Sub"-woofer.
In the switch setting "Auto", the operating mode is auto-
matically switched to "Sub" as soon as the Velocity 2Go 5 /
2Go 6 is connected via the multiport on the rear side.
"Sub" woofer mode settings
The following control settings are recommended as basic
setting before the startup:
Sensitivity (subwoofer gain) to left stop, phase to left
stop, fi lter (crossover) to center position (see page 5 /
Fig. 5).
