Access to status info
Slide one finger from the bottom to the top of the screen to bring up the status
information, e.g. time and date, mobile signal strength, battery level, etc.
Locking and unlocking the phone
A short press of the power button will either lock or unlock the phone, depending on
the state in which the phone was before pressing the button.
End a call
A short press of the power button will end a call.
Resetting the phone
If your phone becomes unresponsive or malfunctions, you can reset the phone by
holding the power button down for ten seconds.
Main menu
When the phone is unlocked, pressing the power button for about half a second will
always take you back to the main menu.
Spelling the last utterance
If tap the screen with two fingers twice in quick succession, the last utterance will
be spelled by characters instead of just read. The gesture can be used in the
keyboard as well when a precise control over input is needed, like with passwords.
Starting BlindShell
To start your phone, press the power button for 5 seconds. Wait until the vibration
confirms the successful switch-on. If the phone does not vibrate within 10 seconds,
press the power button again. The start-up process may take up to a minute. You
will hear a short melody when BlindShell has booted up. The phone is ready to use
when the first menu item (call 1 of 10) is read back to you. If you are asked for your

The virtual keyboard
The virtual keyboard handles the same way as the numeric keyboard that you may
have used to enter your PIN code. However, the layout of the keyboard is different.
On key two, for example, you will find letters a, b, c and number 2. If you want to
write the word hello, repeat the following steps for each letter:
