2.1.2 Hazard warnings
Risk to life, risk of serious injury and/or material damage due to incorrect operation!
• Endangering of persons due to lack of qualifications and/or installation errors on the
part of the commissioning engineer.
• Endangering of persons due to improper commissioning of the AIRSKIN® Safetyflange
(the AIRSKIN® Safetyflange has been attached to the robot, but has not been in-
stalled as a safety system. This may engender a false sense of safety for other
people.).
Follow the instructions concerning intended operation and correct installation.
• You should never exceed the permissible technical limits, and above all the max-
imum permissible speed of the robot which you have ascertained during the risk
assessment as specified by ISO 12100 and ISO/TS 15066.
• Do not operate machines that are equipped with an AIRSKIN® Safetyflange if you:
–
do not possess the required qualification(s),
–
have not been fully briefed by the operator,
–
have not read or understood this Manual in its entirety.
Clearances
AIRSKIN® Systems can show clearances. Any possible risks that might occur as a result
of these clearances must be considered as part of the risk assessment as specified by
the Machinery Directive and within the meaning of ISO/TS 15066.
Wilful bypassing of the safety function
If the AIRSKIN® Connection Box (see
) is freely accessible, the safety func-
tion of the AIRSKIN® Safetyflange can be wilfully bypassed so that its safety function
is disabled. In order to prevent this, appropriate measures should be employed to deny
unauthorized persons access to the AIRSKIN® Connection Box.
2.1.3 Guidelines, legislation and standards
The AIRSKIN® Safetyflange is safety certified according to EN ISO 13849 and EN/IEC 62061 and has been tested
in accordance with the Machinery Directive. All the necessary standards and directives were complied with. You
can find further information about the standards that were applied by going to
