POST INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
System Performance Verification
Power-Up Test
Position the aircraft outside of the hangar with no overhead obstructions. With all
other aircraft systems powered down, apply aircraft power to the C-1000A Modem
Unit.
1. The C-1000A Satellite Phone System should power-up automatically or you
can press and hold the
button on the Motorola Digital Handset to cycle
power.
The Green LED indicators on the C-1000A Cabin Unit should flash once.
The Motorola handset LCD display should become active along with the
keyboard and display lighting.
The received signal strength indicator bar meter at the top of the Motorola
handset LCD display should indicate
(five bars = maximum
signal strength)
The Motorola handset should display
, the Home System symbol, at the
bottom of the LCD display indicating successful system registration.
You should hear a dial tone when you take an analog phone (2-Wire
POTS or 4-Wire) “off-hook” or lift the handset.
Placing a Test Call
Blue Sky Network has a 4-digit toll free number you can dial from your Iridium phone
to speak to a Blue Sky Network support representative who is familiar with the
Iridium system and its performance. The number is

2-Wire POTS or 4-Wire Analog Phone
Enter the BSN toll free phone as follows:
Pick up handset and verify you have dial tone, then dial
2760
. You should hear a
“heartbeat” tone every few seconds while the call is routed via the satellite and a
normal ring when the connection is complete.
Motorola Digital Handset (C-1000A Cabin Unit)
To place a call using the Motorola Digital Handset on the C-1000A Cabin Unit, enter
the BSN toll free phone as follows:
Dial
2760,
then press the
OK
button. You should hear a “heartbeat” tone every
few seconds while the call is routed via the satellite and a normal ring when the
connection is complete. You will see “Calling” displayed on the handset followed
by the number you dialed.
