INFRARED BROILER ORIFICE SPUD CONVERSION
(CONVERSIONS ON RANGE VOID WARRANTY)
The following procedure must be performed to properly convert the orifice located in the venturi tube.
1. Assure the main gas valve to the range is shut off.
2. Pull or slide range from the cabinetry, in-order to gain accessibility to the rear of the range.
3. Remove rear main back cover of the range to allow access to the broiler venturi tube and orifice fitting location.
This is protected by a broiler shield cover.
4. Removing the broiler shield cover will then allow you to gain access to the orifice fitting, which includes the
orifice that needs to be changed.
5. Utilizing a small stubby screwdriver, remove the (4) screws that hold the venturi bracket onto the venturi tube. In
doing so, the flexible tubing being used on the range, allows the orifice assembly to be positioned outside the
range, so you can remove the orifice with a 7/16 wrench, and re-install new size orifices.
6. Reverse steps, 5 through 1, and in doing so, make sure the venturi bracket with the orifice spud on it, is installed
so that the orifice spud is in line with the venturi tube opening. NOTE: If this is not in line, possible sooting or
combustible gas smell may occur.
7. Review for proper operation of the broiler burner, by assuring the broiler burner is glowing a burnt orange color.
If the burner has a blue bellowing flame, the orifice is not properly positioned in the venturi tube, and minor
alignment is required.
